RADICLE Emergency Shelter
Radicle is a portable shelter competition submission. It seeks to introduce and incorporate a fourth R into the recycling process - Return. After multiple reuses, materials should ultimately return themselves back into the environment. Radicle is a compact all-in-one emergency shelter with sleeping and storage spaces built in, made only with materials that are grown from the Earth, namely fungi, straw, cotton, and hemp. The design is easy to deploy and easy on the environment. Like trees, mushrooms, and vines, Radicle is gown from the Earth, and like a seed, back into the earth it returns.
