Balan Bar Stool

The Balan Bar Stools are a two-piece collection that tries to incorporate human emotions into a day to day home furniture. It thrives to look like a sculpture while still functioning as a chair. Through its slender body, hidden joints, and minimal structure, the Balan Bar Stools evoke reactions from the user, making them question its structure and stability until they finally find balance in it.

Inspired by the quote, "Furniture that doesn't work is just art." -by Sam Maloof, the Balan Bar stools try to exist in both worlds - art and furniture. At first glance, these stools may not seem structurally sound, but upon sitting on them, you will find that the stools find balance with the weight of the user.
